Laurel Ag & Water is looking for a self-motivated, exceptional Service Technician. As a key member of the construction team, the Service Technician will be involved in underground installation, pump and electrical construction, and filter construction, Laurel is looking for a strong Service Technician with a proven track record of comprehensive knowledge of pump and electrical equipment. This role will report to the Service Tech Manager

This person will be passionate about understanding our customer’s needs and creating solutions that maximize our performance at Laurel. WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • · Service Call Work
    • o Assess & diagnose service work
  • o PVC and Filters
  • o Manage required computer (NetSuite) data entry
  • o Prompt and professional customer communication
  • o Provide complete scope for proposed repairs to be quoted by internal teams including design and estimating
  • o Photo document work site and all work performed
  • · Pump & Filter Station Start-ups
    • o Perform Pump & Filter Station start-ups and adjustments of system hardware
  • o Verify all equipment performs to design specifications
  • o Coordinate all manufacturer / warranty
  • o Perform appropriate customer training
  • o Communicate necessary instructions to appropriate departments any necessary corrections
  • · Automation System Installation and Service
    • o Assess and completes construction to specifications of the Design team.
  • o Perform service work as requested
    • System analysis and diagnostic of reported and discovered problems
  • Manage required NetSuite entries for all service work
  • Provide complete RFQ instructions to design when necessary
  • o Programing of Control Systems and Variable Frequency Drives to design specifications
  • o Maintain proficiency, including continuing education, in the Automation Systems supported by Laurel Ag & Water
  • o Test & verify system functionality of equipment, software and applications to insure they meet design specifications
  • o Photo document work site and all work performed
  • Service Department Housekeeping, Personal Organization & Safety
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, tools, inventory & supplies daily to be fully prepared at all time
    • o Always maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all applicable safety regulations
    • o Participate in all required technical and safety trainings

    • Basic Microsoft Suite, Computer and ERP systems
    • · Exceptional problem-solving skills
    • · Pump, Electrical & Filter troubleshooting, and repair experience
    • · Experienced with crane & equipment required for pumps & electrical work
    • · Ability to professionally communicate with customers
    • · Ability to effectively communicate with service team & management
    • · Detail oriented & capable of understanding project details
    • · Dependable and Ability to work independently
    • · Clean CA driver’s license
    • · Phone skills & appropriate manufacture/tech software proficiency
    • · Familiar with Irrigation / pump relationships
